Here’s the scoop for the week

Short Call Substitute Pilot Program:

If you are signed up to receive emails from PELSB, you may have noted this message regarding a new pilot program for short call substitutes. What is not mentioned in the message from PELSB, and is written in statute, is that the daily rate for substitutes in this pilot program is $200.

For some school districts, the rate of pay may be an important consideration in determining whether they apply to be part of the pilot program.

MDE Resource for the READ ACT Which Includes Approved Literacy Screener Tools for Students in K-3:

I recommend reviewing the MDE READ Act information and bookmarking the page for future reference. The approved screeners are identified along with a timeline for implementation and more.

MASA/MASE Spring Conference Dates: Check your Calendar!

Please note the conference dates for 2024 are March 14-15.  There was earlier communication the week prior, so be sure to update your calendar to reflect these new dates. Sorry for any confusion!
