Here’s the scoop for the week

SAVE THE DATE: BACK TO SCHOOL CONFERENCE!

I know it’s months away, but your calendars get filled quickly!  Commissioner Jett has agreed to have the annual MDE conference facilitated by MASA on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. The one day in person conference will be held at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest.  Before you know it, we will be welcoming the 2023-24 school year!

“Violence Project” Update:

Many of you attended the December symposium in Waite Park sponsored by MESPA, MASSP, MSBA, and MASA. James Densley and Jillian Peterson of the “Violence Project” presented data on mass shootings. A new version of the “Violence Project” has been released. 

The notification of the new release included this information, “To access the new version of the database, complete the form here and you will receive it in your inbox.”

Are the Capitol, State Office Building and Senate Office Building Open?

The Capitol and Senate Office Building have been open to the public since the start of the session. The State Office Building will also be open effective Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Good news!
