Here’s the scoop for the week

Effective July 1, 2022, Edible Cannabinoid Products Infused with THC may now be sold in MN:

Many questions have been raised about the implications of a new law allowing the sale of some edible products containing THC. 

This resource Cities and Regulation of Edible Cannabinoid Products provides a very helpful Q & A and much more. While not tailored specifically for schools, this publication remains a resource I highly recommend as you will note many other links to information that you may find useful in your understanding and discussions about the new law.

This summer MSBA emailed to school districts the “July 2022 Services Newsletter” with an updated policy. According to Terry Morrow of MSBA, “Model Policies 416 and 418 are directly relevant. Policy 418 is the primary policy; 416 has references as well.” A huge shoutout to Terry for his work to ensure the model policies are updated to comply with new legislation.

School Leaders who are Female Network to Resume:

Dr. Karen Orcutt, retired Superintendent from Orono, has graciously agreed to lead six networking sessions for MASA female members during the 2022-2023 school year. The sessions will each be focused around one topic with time for discussion and Q & A. The first three sessions are highlighted below. They are independent sessions and participants can join one, two, or all three sessions. Leaders who attended similar sessions last year shared how pleased they were with this opportunity!
